Today’s favorite author is Nelson DeMille, who, sadly, passed away in September 2024. He wrote so many great thrillers, such as The General’s Daughter, Plum Island, Up Country, The Cathedral, By the Rivers of Babylon, etc. My personal favorite is the series featuring retired NY detective John Corey, who works with the FBI’s anti-terrorism task force, and who is as wisecracking as he is brilliant (and flawed.) Corey will have you laughing and rolling your eyes as he saves the world from destruction. Great fun!
DeMille’s books are always filled with well-researched details that make you think he possibly had an inside government source.
DeMille writes military characters and situations with realistic terminology and language — he, himself, was once an army lieutenant who served in Southeast Asia.
If you’re new to Nelson DeMille, I recommend starting your journey with Plum Island, and work your way through the John Corey series.
Happy reading!
